Sistahfest 2022 – International Women’s Day Celebration featuring Live Performances and Panel Discussion on Sexism in the Music Industry
Sistahfest 2022 celebrates International Women’s Day with live performances and panel discussion on sexism in the music industry. The annual fest takes place in Toronto, Canada with artistic presentations and a conference attended by women representing a cross-section of professions that make up the Reggae and Entertainment landscape.
Performing live will be Rayzalution Band, Petraa, Princess Trinidad and Miss Diva on Saturday March 5th, 2022 at BSMT 254, 254 Landsdowne Avenue in Toronto. The show begins at 9pm EST and continues on Friday March 11th, 2022 at Plush Imperial, 4683 Crysler Avenue in Niagara Falls. Admission is free and the event will be livestreamed on www.rastafest.tv.
The festival is sponsored by the Government of Canada, Canada’s private radio broadcasters alongside Factor, Rastafest Inc, Masani Productions Inc, Canadian Reggae Music Association, L3 Magazine and Roots Reggae Hub.
Speaking at this years fest is Taliah Powers, from Irie FM. The Radio announcer, motivational speaker and PhD holder is well-renowned on the radio airwaves and as a consultant to talents in the male-dominated field of music.

Masani Montague, founder of Sistahfest is a Playwright, Festival Owner, and artist promoter based in Toronto. Masani has helped launch and promote the careers of several artists locally and internationally.
Natasha Von Castle is an Editor-in-Chief, and communications director in the music sector. Her wealth of knowledge comes from experience representing artists, festivals and record labels. Natasha is based in Toronto, Canada.
Penny Providence is manager to the all-female band Rayzalution as well as industry consultant to established musical entities including the Toronto Jerk Festival. Penny’s experience in the industry is rounded with tour experience and music production.
Performing artist Petraa wears many hats in the Reggae industry. Her passion for music began in the UK where she was born and continues in Toronto where she resides. Petra is a soulfull Reggae songstress as well as radio presenter on the popular radio show Hwy To Africa. Petraa has appeared on MuchMusic, Rogers TV and several popular platforms.
Miss Diva is a performing artist from Montreal. Her persona has opened international doors which allowed her to collaborate with international stalwarts Glen Washington and Macka Diamond to name a few. Her debut EP, entitled Miss Diva received national success and recognition.
Princess Trinidad is a performer and radio host. Originally from the twin republic of Trinidad & Tobago, Princess has enhanced the entertainment scene in Toronto with her one-of-a-kind hosting style as well as her motivational approach towards nurturing her own and others talents.
Sistafest moderator, Janet is a storyteller and stylist. Janet’s enthusiasm for the arts and support for women in the industry is second-to-none. Based in Toronto, Janet is a staple with a mission to unite the female voice.
